The Spring 2025 season was nothing short of spectacular for the St. Charles Community College Track & Field team! We are proud to announce that two of our standout athletes qualified for the NJCAA Division III National Championships—a true testament to their hard work, talent, and dedication.
Matthew Hoeft had a historic season in the Men's Long Jump, where he soared to a personal best of 7.05 meters, earning him the #1 ranking in the nation leading into Nationals. At the National Championships, Matthew jumped 6.69 meters, securing 5th place overall and achieving All-American honors. He also made history by setting the new SCC school record in the Long Jump. His success continued in the Men's 100m, where he represented SCC with pride and speed.
On the women's side, Sarah Clark impressed in the Triple Jump, qualifying for Nationals with a mark of 9.21 meters. Her performance marks a significant step forward for our women's program, and we're excited to see what she accomplishes next season.
As we celebrate our spring victories, we're already gearing up for an exciting Fall 2025 Cross Country season. Head Coach Victor Mathuthu is energized and optimistic about what's to come. With a newly recruited, highly talented roster, the team is poised to chase records and bring home wins.
"Our goal is to continue building on our momentum from last season," said Coach Mathuthu. "We're aiming to not only break program records but also to finish higher in the national rankings."
Last season, the SCC Men's team finished ranked #7 in the nation, and the Women's team closed the season at #9. With our growing roster of skilled and dedicated athletes, we are confident that even greater achievements are on the horizon.
