Softball Lands 14 on Signing Day

Softball Lands 14 on Signing Day

Reloading is the way Head Softball Coach Dustin Wengert likes to say it, and he hopes that this group will bring more to SCC Softball than just wins.  "This group has everything they need to be successful on the field, but what could set this group apart from others is their work ethic and tenacity to do the little things", speaks Wengert.  This group comes from five states (Missouri, Illinois, Oklahoma, Texas and Tennessee), which proves again Wengert's ability to recruit not just locally but regionally as well.  Welcome to the follwoing group...

Maddie Stelling (Jackson, MO) - "She is a fabulous athlete and will cover a ton of ground in the outfield for us.  She has helped Jackson, HS become a force in the fall high school season."

Ellison Hallahan (Sycamore, IL) - "Quiet kid that carries a BIG stick!  We are very excitied to watch her only get stronger and really fine toon her craft at the plate."

Lilly Siefert (Wentzville, MO) - "This kid can really run! She just needs to enjoy the game and understand she belongs.  She will add depth to the outfield positions."

Ryleigh Palmer (Carl Junction, MO) - "RP has the chance to really develop into a great all-around player.  Plays the outfield and has a sweet left handed swing."

Annabelle Richardson (Festus, MO) - "STRONG kid that we expect to continue to cruch the softball.  She will only get better because her work ethic will lead the way."

Cora King (Thompson, MO) - "Very versitle and we will use her in that way.  Can absolutely swing it and will have a major impact the day she steps on campus."

Jaeyln Keller (Salem, IL) - "Plays a couple different positions and will add depth to those poistions.  Brings an energy that will have her competing from day 1."

Emma Wray (Dyersburg, TN) - "When watching Emma we just couldn't keep our eyes off her.  She comes to us as a catcher, but we've already had discussions about moving her around, and she up for it.  This speaks volumes about her willingness to do what it takes to play."

Sophia Candeloro (Denton, TX) - "Super smooth infield, that we felt very lucky to get.  Her upside is skyhigh, and we hope she reaches the moon.  Comes from an amazing Texas HS program as well."

Morgan Murphy - (Lake St. Louis, MO) -"Watching Morgan behind the plate is easy, she is so smooth and has a rocket for an arm. We are excitied to see her handle our staff over the next couple years."

Gabby Drake -(Dunlap, IL) -"We really think Gabby has a D1 stick.  Another kid that comes to us wanting to do whateve it takes to be in the lineup.  It will be fun to see where she cements herself here at SCC."

Emma Borden (Big Rock, TN) - "She attended one of our camps and everyone on our team, loved her from the moment she walked in.  She has another work ethic that just quit and is never satisfied."

McKenna Hicks (Fairland, OK) - "Has the potential to be electric in the circle.  She is coming here know her job and her office will be in the circle for the Cougs."

Ellie Smith (St. Peters, MO) - "She has help guided her HS team to district championships, and now we hope that she will help lead us to new highs.  Outstanding kid, with a lot to prove."
